I belong to The Cape Town Flickr Meetup Group and a few weeks ago we had a "Lets shoot Each Other" Meet. It was held in a local warehouse owned by group member, Deon Maritz and turned out well but with a pretty poor attendance. We are going to have to do it again sometime when the weather is a bit cooler. We have been experiencing a heatwave over the last few weeks and I think that this was the reason that it was so poorly attended.

I have just been contacted by Cape Town Tourism asking me if they can use one of my Sunbird Shots on their website and to write a bit about my photography. Herewith follows the write up - "I am a keen bird, flower and landscape photographer which stems from my passion with the mountains around Cape Town and the many hours I spend hiking and climbing in them. I often take one of my cameras on hikes in case a suitable photo opportunity presents itself. Another place to capture some rare flower and bird photos is in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens without having to carry a lot of heavy camera equipment all the way up Table mountain. Last Saturday, my wife, Colleen, also a keen photographer asked if we could go to Kirstenbosch as we only had an hour or two available. I have only ever seen Sunbirds of the Double Collared variety there and never an Oranged Breasted Sunbird. Anyway last Saturday was the exception and there were dozens of them around and I was really lucky to capture a few on camera."
